Cookin’ On 3 Burners are Australia’s hardest hitting Hammond Organ Trio – joining the dots between Deep Funk, Raw Soul, Organ Jazz & Boogaloo.

Following a series of fortunate events with a disused time machine, Australia’s hardest hitting Hammond Organ trio Cookin’ On 3 Burners are propelled back in time where, upon breaking into in a local high school science lab, they cautiously combine the elements to bring about the creation of Lab Experiments Vol. 1: Mixin’ .

8 tracks scorched onto analogue tape and made available for your convenience on vinyl and digital, CO3B will be celebrating this release with a series of Soul Happenings across the country this June and July. In true Burners fashion, it’s set to be all live and full of vibe – with Ivan Khatchoyan keeping those drums tighter than a mosquito’s tweeter, Jake Mason making the Hammond swell and scream and Dan West twanging his guitar like a boss.

Joining them onstage will be regular vocalist and Lab Experiments feature artist Stella Angelico, whose smokey vocals and dynamic performance with the band brought down the house on the main stage at the recent Port Fairy Folk Festival.

Taking their cues from a spiritual home that’s situated somewhere in the back streets of 1966 and reinventing it into a soul stew that is a sound for the now.

Get down to the future sound of yesterday with Cookin’ On 3 Burners in a town near you.

Kerbside Collection is an instrumental Jazz, Funk and Rare Groove ensemble from the inner suburbs of Brisbane/Australia. The band plays good time jazz, funk and traditional rare groove for listening or dancing. The sound harks back to the ’60s and ’70s Californian West Coast jazz and funk sounds of artists such as Wes Montgomery and George Benson.

'A gritty rhythm section of old school drums and fender or upright bass, alongside funky Hammond and Rhodes, with some sweet George Benson-ish jazz guitar licks on top.'

A trip in the nocturnal audio spectrum demands academic control and yet the most creative, effective solution from the musical medicine man at the centre of the gathering. Thus for tonight’s elegant skip through the creepers and vines we have sought out Brisbane’s subterranean future music master craftsman, Paprika.

Holding down the frontline of the city’s organic rhythms and intelligent dance music community, Paprika has laid cart to wax in front of the world’s finest club specialists including Thievery Corporation, Bugz in the Attic, Jazzanova, Keb Darge, Quantic Soul Orchestra, Norman Jay and Ben Mono. On each approach to the decks, calling on a lifetime association with rhythms through training as a percussionist and drummer, and collecting illicit quantities of afro beat, drum and bass, future jazz and broken beat.
