With 'Midnight Noodles' we earn additional insight into the themes Malcolm explored on HDBA's debut album 'Human Don't Be Angry': from 'Something To Look Forward To' and the glacially paced, ambient textures of the EPs ten minute long title track, through the Jan Hammer-esque 80's motifs of 'Mumbo Jumbo' to the more familiar territory of 'Dreamer', the EP's lead track and the perfect fusion of Middleton's acerbic world view, hyper-kenetic drum machines and arms-aloft singalong choruses.

As one last salvo from HDBA before Middleton returns, re-energised to his solo career, 'Midnight Noodles' serves to remind us of just how versatile, inventive and singular a talent Malcolm Middleton really is.
