I wrote Everything's Not Lost back in January after being stuck in a higher tier than the rest of my family and therefore unable to go home for Christmas for the first time in my life. I was feeling pretty low and disconnected from everything and everyone. I think the same realisation was had by a lot of people, in the absence of friends and family, you realise how important they are to you and how much you rely on them to get through difficult times. In their absence I wrote this song to make myself feel better and as a kind of thank you to all my nearest and dearest for always being there for me! After the couple of years we've all had, i feel like we need songs like this, unashamedly bright pop songs that can take you out of the doom and gloom and just make you smile.
